abstract and modern art haters are sooo snobby like klein literally Created an entirely new pigment and then painted a canvas in a way where the brush strokes wouldn't be visible. the insinuation that people with no skill could reproduce that is so annoying because unless you are skilled at color mixing and painting you definitely couldn’t lmao

i hope it's okay to add this because i think it hits the nail directly on the head

Honestly, it's like picking up a book and saying "I know all these words, I can type, I could have written this" like there's no middle step between the technical ability and the finished work.

Day 25 Favorite Monster Girl.

Nagas. Who knew they’d be so fun to draw? Especially with their colors. Also I really like doing the henna designs.

elsajeni

This is so cute and the pose is so deeply relatable that I immediately said, out loud, “They’re NOT FOR YOU, they’re for the PTA meeting!” and my husband nodded sagely and said “That stands for People That are Anacondas” and now I can’t stop laughing.

I can’t believe it’s been 10 years and people are still reblogging this and adding nice little comments and things to it c: That makes me really happy.

Barnes and Nobles is gonna start serving food and alcohol.

Everybody’s cracking jokes about how it’s a desperate attempt to stay relevant in the age of Amazon.

But you know what? Props to them. This is exactly what Blockbuster didn’t do. At no point was Blockbuster like “Hey, movie rentals aren’t the lucrative enterprise they once were. Perhaps it’s time we become known for our cheesy garlic bread.”

mackasaurussex

Okay but…if someone wants to take me on a date to a Barnes and noble and get me dinner and a drink and then let me peruse the stacks like I’m not saying no. A sandwich, a beer, and 2-5 books on various topics I hope I’ll someday read about? Good night.

The Swedish equivalent of Blockbuster is now best known for its candy, snacks and sodas.

This is El Ateneo Grand Splendid, an old theatre turned bookstore in Buenos Aires:

The stage itself was turned into a cafe:

You can’t even begin to comprehend the massive amounts of money this place makes, despite the fact that they turned the theatre boxes into reading nooks like this:

I’ve literally spent days holed up in there reading books for free while also consuming massive amounts of coffee and pastries.

Adapt or die, people.

Take me to Buenos freaking Aires… Leave me in this bookshop… Never look for me, you will not find me again.

“You don’t have to be that gung-ho on trans rights to realize that a world where girls’ genitals need to be inspected before they can play any sport is worse for girls than a world where once in a while there’s a trans girl on a girls’ team.” —Evan Urquhart

I fear that one of the many repercussions of this will be that girls who are forced to undergo this unneeded and unnecessary medical exam is that because of the trauma it will cause, and lets be real it will traumatize these children, that as they get older they will avoid gynecology health care.

I think any doctor who goes through with performing these exams or is willing to perform such exams should be investigated by the medical state board. This goes against medical ethics, best practices, child psychology, the Hippocratic oath, and how pediatric medicine is done.

This is the the state and parents condoning medical sexual assault and rape of minors.

If it was truly about protecting children then this would never have become law. This will only do long term damage, on multiple levels, to children.

I sincerely hope no parents actually go through with forcing their children to be examined.

I wouldn’t be surprised if women’s sports got super impacted by this to the point girls teams just stop existing and then there’ll be some article or other wondering why girls don’t want to do sport anymore and-

Oh look all the women’s sports are fizzling out. We’ve regressed to the 1800s.

Trans rights are part of women’s rights and trans hate is driving people to side with the very patriarchy they insist trans women are somehow inflicting on them. No honey, when you voted for the old white man in power who thinks you should be forced to carry your rape baby to term even if it might kill you and wants to put you back in the kitchen serving men where he thinks you belong, all because you both hate trans women, you kind of fast tracked it yourself instead of standing together with all of us to kick that shitty fucker out of power. Yeah he would have done that shit regardless, but you could have fought with us instead of against your own damn human rights just so others couldn’t have any either.
